FOR CFXF CONFERENCE TRAVEL FUND
The CFXF Fragile X Conference
Travel Fund provides support to enable investigators
to travel to, attend, and participate in various
fragile X research-related conferences throughout
the year. With this fund, CFXF seeks to strengthen
relationships among Fragile X scientists and to
heighten the presence of international fragile
X researchers by bringing them together at important
scientific conferences.
A) GUIDELINES FOR
APPLICANTS
- Length of Fragile X Research
Travel Fund
CFXF Travel Fund awards will be made for the
duration of the conference period only.
- How to Apply
- Applications may be submitted
anytime, at least two months prior to conference
start date.
- The application cover page
and budget sheet must be included and are
available at www.cfxf.org. Applications
must be submitted in the format described
in Section F.
- One original and three copies
must be sent along with an electronic copy
of the application, via email to grants@cfxf.org.
- Decisions on awards will
be announced approximately one month after
receipt of the completed application.
B. ELIGIBILITY
- Applicant Guidelines
- A scientist from any country
may apply for a Fragile X Research Travel
Fund award
- Applicants must have a research
doctorate (Ph.D.) or a doctoral degree with
equivalent experience in research at the
time of application.
- Applicants must demonstrate
significant training and experience in fragile
X research and must be committed to continuing
fragile X research as a principal investigator
C. ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
- Per Diem
CFXF will provide $50.00 (USD or its equivalent)
per day for meals and incidentals for each day
of the conference or each day the applicant
plans to attend the conference. In addition,
CFXF will provide the cost of accommodations
for the duration of the applicant's stay at
the conference hotel at the rate advertised
for conference participants.
- Transportation
CFXF will provide transportation costs for the
most direct and cost effective means of transportation
from the applicant's home city to the conference
site. This estimate must be provided by an independent
travel agent, but CFXF reserves the right to
make alternate arrangements.
- Conference Registration
CFXF will provide conference registration and
fees required for attendance.
D. REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS
- Review Process
All applications will be reviewed for completeness
and technical requirements by CFXF staff. Incomplete
applications and those that do not meet the
technical criteria listed herein will not be
considered.
- Review Criteria
The primary review criteria will be an evaluation
of the conference itself, the relative cost
and the appropriateness for fragile X researchers.
- Notification of Award
Applicants will receive written notification
of the outcome of the review process.
E) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND
REQUIREMENTS OF AWARD
- Each recipient must submit a
report to CFXF at the end of the conference.
- CFXF may request reimbursement
of any part of the award in the event that the
applicant is unable to fulfill his/her commitment.
F. APPLICATIONS
All applications must be submitted in the
following format:
- Applicants must complete the
Form CFXFC1 available at www.cfxf.org.
- Narrative
Please provide a brief summary of fragile X
research and experience, including publications,
etc.
Describe the value of the conference and relate
the topic(s) of the conference to your current
fragile X research. Describe the value of the
conference and its subject to your current or
planned fragile X research.
- Budget
Please complete Form CFXFB1 available at www.cfxf.org.
